McGrew Real Estate organized a giving day for agents and staff on Wednesday, Dec. 9 to encourage donations to two local charities in need of extra assistance for the holidays.
Eudora-based food truck, Torched Goodness, was hired to dish out crème brûlées to agents and staff who donated to Douglas County Toys For Tots and/or The Children’s Shelter. All agents who participated were given a voucher for the delicious dessert on one of the most beautiful December days in recent memory.
The McGrew agency had a goal of raising enough money to sponsor a holiday gift for each child and teenager residing in one of the The Children’s Shelter residential group homes. Because of the generosity of agents and staff, $2,100 was raised, which means each child receives a $150 Amazon gift card to pick out something special for the holidays.
In addition, a donation dropbox inside the lobby was filled to the brim with brand new, unused toys for the Toy Shop for Douglas County Toys for Tots.
Each year, McGrew REALTOR® Mary Jones helps to organize this amazing local program, which relies on volunteers and the kindness of the community. All toys stay in Douglas County to help children and families in need for the holidays season.
