Freedom Home Ministry is a new faith-based non-profit organization in Lawrence that provides transitional housing centered around recovery for people experiencing homelessness and addiction. Karen Duggan, wife of McGrew REALTOR® Rick Duggan, is on the organization’s Board of Directors.
The shelters will provide six to 18 months of assistance by trained staff living full-time in the home for support and crisis management. In addition, residents will be given mentors in the form of community volunteers to assist on their recovery journey. These volunteers will encourage individuals to identify life goals and work on daily skills, such as job skills training, financial management, and life skills coaching in a family environment.
According to the organization’s website:
“Our purpose is facilitating healing freedom for unsheltered people physically, emotionally, and spiritually for those who desire growth and transformation.”
