Bishop Seabury Academy

Bishop Seabury Academy is an independent college-preparatory school, grades 7-12. Started in 1997, Bishop Seabury was originally located five miles east of Lawrence in the old Kaw Valley School and then moved to a new campus on Clinton Parkway, a renovated facility that once housed Alvamar Racquet and Swim Club.

The mission of Bishop Seabury Academy is to promote individual academic growth and character development through an excellent education rooted in moral principles. To this end, the Academy offers rigorous academic training with small class size and a Socratic teaching method. The school also encourages participation in a variety of athletics and arts programs. The school also has an extensive community service program.

In 2007, the senior SAT average was 1239 (218 points higher than the national average) and the ACT average 26 (3 points higher than the national average). The Academy also had more national merit scholars per capita than any school in the region.
Bishop Seabury Academy helps individual students achieve their potential and seeks to develop young people who will be leaders in the community.
