For Patrick Dipman, success in real estate means more than financial gain. Each transaction is reassurance that the he can continue his cherished position as an educator at Free State High School.

“This career in real estate has afforded me the opportunity to continue to work with young people and bring positive impact to our community,” Dipman says. “Had McGrew not offered me this opportunity in 2014, I would have left education for better income elsewhere. Instead, I’ve been able to grow as an educator and a real estate agent, and they’ve both played off of one another.”
Dipman teaches three courses that support students in their goals towards competitive employment. Specifically, a course called Interpersonal Skills creates and fosters authentic friendships between students with special needs and their general education peers. Projects that include baking, like Cupcake Wars 2020, are ways for students to learn new skills, collaborate and celebrate achievements.
Dipman believes that assisting a client in real estate isn’t different than teaching within a school. He says that in both careers he helps develop meaningful relationships, manage expectations, and collaborate to realize dreams.
“I’m a better educator because I’m a REALTOR®,” Dipman says. “The principles taught and implemented by McGrew and the real estate boards shape how I teach to my students. Understanding human behavior and operating with integrity is paramount to doing things the right way in both careers. Both careers are so enjoyable; it’s a balance that’s well worth it!”
